Hill´s childhood home

In a ramshackle one-story house with a front door painted sky blue, Hill and Leif Persplexy were born many years ago. The house is now owned by a local Dormian cobbler, and all that is left of the Persplexys are faded memories. Although the Persplexys grew up in modest circumstances, they had an illustrious name – previous generations of Persplexys were known as master swordsmakers. However, by the time that Hill and Leif came along, the Persplexys had come upon hard times and were eking out an existence as tailors. Still, it was a happy place to grow up. They grew tomatoes and cucumbers on the roof, and every summer Hill and Leif would run around the neighborhood, playing sleepers and wakers, a Dormian version of hide-and-go-seek. They slept in a tiny room on a bunk bed that their father had built for them. Their clothes were handmade of scraps that wealthier clients had left behind. Every evening, before setting off to sleep-work, the family members would have dinner together, and talk and laugh. This was a humble, but happy home for Hill and Leif.
