The High Peaks of the Urals
Books that deal with mythology and fable tell a different story of the High Peaks. They say the area is filled with undiscovered plants, from the tiniest lichen to the most mysterious plant of them all: the Founding Tree.
The properties of this Tree are scarcely to be believed. It grows to incredible heights, its root system is rumored to span continents, and its presence transforms a desolate area into the most fertile. Other stories tell of the rich semi-precious malachite gem reserves throughout the area. One particularly strange story tells of an underground tunnel system underneath the High Peaks of the Urals that uses the very faults and cracks that make up the inner core of our planet.
